The Bachelor is a reality television dating game show that began airing on ABC in 2002. Each season, the show has a single bachelor and a large group of interested women that are shown as romantic interests. Slowly, the women are eliminated one by one from the competition, starting off with simple rose ceremonies, where the bachelor gives roses to those he want to see progress. As less and less women stay in the competition, the more and more dates the bachelor goes on with the ones that remain, even going so far as to visit families and homes of the final four. When the selection is down to two women, the bachelor ends the competition by proposing to the woman he wants the most.
