American Idol is a reality television series and franchise which aims to discover new solo music recording artists from contestants pulled from various American cities. Each season goes through the selection process of one candidate pool, in which candidates compete with each other through vocal performance. They are judged by a panel of selected industry experts, but winners are determined by viewers.
