Extreme Makeover: Home Edition is a reality TV series that began airing in 2003. The series has show host Ty Pennington and his crew of workers going around to the less fortunate communities and households each episode, focusing on a particular family hat has faced rough times recently. The family is sent off to a 7-day vacation, paid for by the show, while the construction crews work on renovating the interior, exterior and landscaping of the property. Should the house be beyond repair, the crew will build them a brand new house entirely.
