The first stage, the blind stage, has coaches who listen to the contestant’s song, without seeing her, and if they like the contestant’s voice, they turn their chair to signify they would like to work with them. After the coaches have enough contestants, they move on into the ‘battle stage’, where the coaches select two of their team members and have them sing a song together in front of an audience. Afterwards, the coach chooses who will advance to the final stage, the ‘live stage’. In this stage, the remaining contestants sing live on television, and the viewers at home dial in and cast their vote. The person with the highest votes on a team moves on to the finals, where the remaining four contestants sing an original song. The winner is chosen from this.
