Enjoyed this one a lot. More of an ‘old house/murder mystery’ than straight horror but reminds me why I love movies from the ’20’s-50’s so much. These used to be shown on the local station late night movies before all the fun was replaced by informercials, gabfests, & endless rehashes of whatever news happened the previous day.
Interesting to see Mischa Auer performing without laying the acent on so thick he’s hard to understand like he usually did. Also watching Willie Best steal every scene without trying. Sleep with one eye open in that house!
Thanks again for making this P.D. gem easily available.

    Thank you,
these are the kind of movies we don’t see anymore. I am from a newer generation but have learned to appreciate a simpler time in cinematography where something was left to the imagination. Thank you again.

Hanns Krug @ 52:14: “And it’s all your fault, You schwanken devil…”
As near as I can make out, he means to say: “You unprincipled (or fluctuating) devil” ….(schwankende teufel)
Funny to hear that in an American motion picture….
