Very good acting throughout. An interesting film. portraying an aspect of the feudal system in Hungary in the late nineteenth century. The informal courtroom procedure, ( i.e. not requiring witnesses to be sworn etc.) is also remarkable.

This is a very intriguing film, full of suspense and able to capture the curiosity and imagination of the viewer. The storyline is still very true to this very day as we can read news like this in newspapers – that the rich and powerful can flex their muscles and the poor have to submit and succumb to their wishes. This story once again reiterates that the truth will always stand!
I must say that I was very annoyed by the frequent buffering which irritates and curbs the flow of the film. Viewers must have the patience and then they will be rewarded when the film ends.

INTERESTING- THERE WERE MANY CLUES THAT THESE ACCUSED MEN WERE JEWS!!!! THE MUSIC INTRDUCING THE MOVIE IS THE TUNE OF THE KOL NIDRE” THAT IS CHANTED BY JEWS ON YOM KIPPUR EVE. THE ELDERLY ACCUSED MAN WITH THE LONG WHITE BEARD WORE A YARMULKA OR HEAD COVERING THE YOUNG SON ALSO WORE ONE WHEN HE FIRST ARRIVED AT THE COURT, BUT HIS FATHER DIRECTED HIM TO REMOVE IT IN COURT. AND YET, NOT A MENTION THAT THESE MEN WERE JEWS AND THAT THIS COURT WAS CONDUCTING A BLOOD LIBEL . THERE WAS AT LEAST ONE SUCH CASE, IN HUNGARY, IN A TOWN CALLED TISA ESLAU THAT MY FATHER REMEMBERED FROM WHEN HE WAS A BOY. TYPICALLY HOLLYWOOD . EVEN THOUGH THE BIG MEN THERE IN THE FILM INDUSTRY WERE ALMOST ALL JEWS, THEY WOULD NEVER MENTION THE WORD. THE FIRST TIME THEY DID FILM SOMETHING RELATING OPENLY TO JEWS WAS THE MOVIE “GENTLEMEN’S AGREEMENT” THANNKS TO MY EASY TV FOR SHOWING THIS FILM.

since i registered with your website i have not been disappointed, i’m
only disappointed with the isp I chose.
this movie for me is a fictional, yet true version of some of the misery we human beings still suffer & deal with today.
